Brain to Brain Control Interface Being Developed
“The Internet was a way to connect computers, and now it can be a way to connect brains,” Stocco who is a part of a team of researchers at the University of Washington. Rajesh Rao and Andrea Stocco, have created a remote, non-invasive brain-to-brain interface that allowed Rao to move Stocco’s finger remotely on a keyboard using his thoughts.
“We want to take the knowledge of a brain and transmit it directly from brain to brain.”
The possibilities at this point become endless, you could literally “control” another person through your own brain. This could be used in a variety of ways including people that have gone through severe brain trauma and someone else could help them move around.
It’s kind of scary too that someone could “control” your brain and be able to ‘act as you’.
Imagine the defense team for a bank robber or murder uses the defense that they were forced without their will into a brain control helmet and then forced to rob a bank.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, the technology is still in a very early stage, it’s just really interesting at what the good and bad possibilities could be.
