More adults are sexting, according to a new study by Pew Research Center which aimed to look at how the internet, cell phones and social media are effecting romantic relationships.
Sexting; receiving or sending sexually suggestive or provocative photos, videos and text messages is becoming more popular among the adult community.
The Pew Research Center found that nearly 20 percent of mobile users had received a “sext” which is up 5 percent from 2012.
9 percent also claimed to have sent a “sext” which was also increased from 6 percent back in 2012.
The study also found that three in four adults claim the internet has affected their relationship in a positive way due to online dating, online communication and social media.
Of those who were married, 27 percent claimed that the internet had affected their relationship – 20 percent said negatively and 74 percent said positively.
The study also found that 67 percent of internet users had shared their Facebook password with their partner or spouse.
The full study is set to be released later next week.
