HTC is reportedly prepping for the formal launch of its latest flagship smartphone – the ‘HTC M7’ smartphone – following the release of an alleged image of the HTC handset and the leak of its unconfirmed specs and features.
This latest round of leaks comes close at the heels of a crude render of the HTC gadget and this is definitely a welcome development as it gives us a clearer picture of things to come down from the HTC alley. Nonetheless, company insiders are not confirming nor making any comments regarding these unofficial images as well as the alleged specs and updated details of the HTC M7.
According to several industry observers, the leaked HTC M7 images appear to be legitimate and are pretty close to the real deal. The front portion is believed to be as close as it can get to the actual gadget, although the back portion is not yet final.
Either way, there is a strong indication that we may end up with a new gadget that has design elements which are similar to the DROID DNA or the Windows Phone 8X. However, we may not be seeing a gadget with an edge-to-edge display panel, contrary to what those leaked images are suggesting.
The Taiwanese phone manufacturer is expected to offer a slew of color options for their M7 smartphone, just like its 8X as well as the other previous Windows Phone 8 gadgets. And as far as specs and features are concerned, HTC will most likely come up with a device with a quad-core processor with a 1.7GHz clocking and a 2GB RAM. It will also come out of the box with a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 2,300mAh battery and HTC Sense UI 5.0.
Another possibility is a product reveal that will coincide with the staging of the MWC trade event in Barcelona, Spain next month. We should expect more detailed reports about this latest HTC offering in the coming days. Stay tuned.
